Modalities Used

DBT

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, an evidenced-based model that is centered around the understanding of two opposites being true at the same time, acceptance and change. Within this construct skills are taught from four principals: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation. Developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the 1980s for individuals with chronic suicidal ideation and Borderline Personality Disorder. Today, success has been more widely seen from clients who experience emotional complexity, impulsive behaviors, and relationship struggles.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, an evidence-based model that focuses on targeting trauma through desensitization of a disturbing experience and reprocessing to gain understanding and better cope with reality. Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s to specifically serve individuals with PTSD. Today, EMDR is used to effectively process all levels of disturbance.

The Gottman Method

Research-based couples approach that offers practical tools to build a healthier, more connected, and resilient relationship. Developed by Dr. John Gottman and Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman from their decades of observations and research in the famous Seattle “Love Lab”. The seven principles: building love maps, sharing fondness and admiration, turning towards instead of away, positive perspective, managing conflict, making life dreams come true, and creating shared meaning are anchored in trust and commitment.

$180.00 for 60 minutes individual or couples session; $40.00 per group session

Do you see people in person?

No, all services are online

Do you see couples or children?
Yes, I see couples; I see clients who are 20 years and older
Is therapy for me?
I don’t believe therapy is for everyone. One has to be willing to tolerate discomfort, interested in self-reflection, able to be honest, and motivated to do their own work.
How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?

Knowing what matters to you in this setting will help you determine if I am a good fit.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation to serve as a personality and needs assessment.  During this time I ask clients to be prepared with questions about the process or jump into what is the most important thing they want me to know. I am not the right fit for everyone. If that is determined, I have a robust network of colleagues and will offer recommendations.
